About Us
Established in 2022 (2079 B.S.), Skills Home Metals is a leading vocational training provider specializing in metal welding and fabrication. Located in Pokhara, Nepal, our state-of-the-art centre combines hands-on training, a production unit, and a skills testing facility aligned with international standards. We are in the process of affiliating with the UK's ECITB for global certification. Our mission is to equip learners with world-class welding skills through practical apprenticeships, and job placement support, fostering careers that prioritize quality, safety, and sustainability. Managed by experienced professionals, SHM is committed to excellence, integrity, and empowering individuals nationwide. By 2030, we aim to expand welding training centres across Nepal, certify over 5,000 welders, lead sustainable industry practices, and build strong industry partnerships, while expanding services to benefit communities and the metal construction sector globally.
Vision
Our vision is to be a highly preferred training hub among the youth to learn and grow with international standard metal fabrication skills, using proven technologies in the field of Iron/Steel construction.
Mission
Our mission is to develop a welding-specific training network throughout the country and provide training opportunity based on international standard training curriculum in the real world of work environment linkages with the international certification system. We also provide OJT facilities during the training and job placement to the interested graduates inside the country and abroad.
Our team
Mr. Narayan Babu Shrestha
Chairperson, BODMr. Shrestha leads the program unit. He has a Masters Degree in Project and Data management and has more than 22 years of experience in developing and managing vocational skills training and employment services in Nepal and abroad.
Mr. Bishnu Prasad Lamichhane
Business Development Head, BODMr. Lamichhane is the Head of the Business Development and Public Relation Unit. He has over 20 years running technical and vocational training centres across Nepal, helping thousands of young people gain practical skills for employment.
Er. Ram Sharan Thapa
CEO, BODRam Sharan Thapa is a UK-registered Fellow Chartered Engineer, International Professional Engineer (UK) and Chartered Manager with around 20 years of experience in engineering and leading technical training programmes, including UK-based apprenticeships and vocational systems.
